WILDFIRE IN SOUTH LLANO RIVER WATERSHED…

From Junction Eagle (May 4, 2011): The size of the Oasis Fire in Kimble County remains in excess of 10,000 acres. As of Wednesday, the U.S. Forest Service estimates that the fire is 90% contained. A U.S. Forest Service task force – comprised of numerous dozers and fire trucks with approximately 20 personnel – has been temporarily relocated to and will remain in Junction. During this time, the crewmembers will routinely check on the area in and around the Oasis fire for any hot spots or problem areas. This task force will remain stationed in Junction pending calls from other areas in the region for their services. For further information, please contact Kimble County Judge Andrew Murr at (325) 446-2724.
